After three decades of visionary leadership, president and CEO Saifa Koonar is retiring, leaving a remarkable legacy of bringing together researchers, clinicians, donors and the community to create healthier futures for children and families.

Working alongside the 91°µÍø½ûÇø, , the and generous community supporters, Saifa helped inspire transformational investments that made the new Alberta Children's Hospital and the Alberta Children's Hospital Research Institute possible. Together, these partnerships have advanced groundbreaking research, accelerated innovation and given children and families access to world-class care and discoveries that are changing lives in Alberta and beyond.

As the Foundation begins its next chapter, the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation Board has recruited Dr. Claudia Hudspeth as its next president and CEO, beginning in August. Claudia is a medical doctor and a public health expert who has dedicated her career to improving health outcomes, especially for children and families. Calgary has been home base for Claudia for more than a decade, so she is looking forward to lending her global expertise to benefit her own community.
